Born in London, Rabbi Kahlani lived in Jerusalem, co-founding Kehilat Avriechim Har Nof for English-speaking families. After studying for seventeen years in Yeshiva, he moved to the UK this summer with his wife Ora and five children to join Chazak. He started at Beis Yisroel, then moved to the Mir Yeshiva, becoming a student of R’ Osher Arieli shlita. Spending six years in R’ Osher’s Gemara Shiur, he then joined a chabura of R’ Osher’s graduates, studying Sedarim Kodshim and Moed, earning Smicha from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg shlita. Rabbi Kahlani also studied under Rabbi Moshe Shapira zt’l, deeply influenced by his teachings, and gave weekly shiurim in the Mir and other Yeshivot in Jerusalem.
